How to download and install cooja simulator and contiki os in vmware

Cooja Start-up and Initial Settings:

1.     Install VMWare Player:

2.     Download and install VMWare Player.

3.      Download Instant Contiki:  website link : http://www.contiki-os.org/start.html

Download Instant Contiki. When downloaded, unzip the file, place the unzipped directory on the desktop.

4.      Start Instant Contiki

5.      Boot Ubuntu

6.     Start Instant Contiki by running InstantContiki2.6.vmx. Wait for the virtual Ubuntu Linux boot up.

7.      Log in:

Log into Instant Contiki. The password is “user” which is the default password.

8.      Starting Cooja simulator

9.      Open a terminal window

1                  To start Cooja, first open a terminal window.

111.  In the terminal window, go to the Cooja directory:

Cd Contiki/tools/coooja

112.  Staring Cooja with the command:

Ant run

113.  When Cooja first starts, it will first compile itself, which may take some time.

When Cooja is compiled, it will start with a blue empty window. 

14.   Create new simulation:

Click the file menu and click “new  simulation”.

115.  Cooja now opens up the dialog “create new simulator”:

116.  Cooja brings up the new simulation. 

117.  add one or more motes in simulator.

118.   the “Mote” menu, where we click on “Add motes....

119.   Click “Create new mote type...” and select one of the available mote types.  click “Sky mote..”. to create an emulated Tmote Sky mote type.

20.   Cooja opens the” Create Mote Type” dialog.

21. Add motes to simulation and add motes:

22. Start simulation:

23. Pause the simulation:
